Valid Proof of Identity:
- According to Czech law, foreigners are required to carry a valid form of identification at all times while in the Czech Republic. For tourists and short-term visitors, this typically means carrying your passport. It is recommended to leave your original of the passport safely at your apartment and rather only carry a copy of the passport with you (and a driving licence, if you have it).
- Police officers and other authorized personnel have the right to ask for identification.

Monthly Siren Test in Prague
- On the first Wednesday of every month, promptly at 12:00 PM (noon) CET, a city-wide siren test is conducted. Please be advised that this siren activation is solely a test and does not mean an actual emergency. Therefore, no immediate action or concern is required from the public. The sirens will stop after a few minutes.
